If you’re interested in the outdoors, meeting other Georgia outdoor enthusiasts and learning about the river, consider volunteering. There are daily opportunities to volunteer in land-based clean up, river clean up, trail building, non-native species control, general assistance and more.
If you frequently visit any of the 48 miles of trails at the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, consider becoming a “trail blazer” and act as another set of eyes for the park staff. Volunteers take a 12-hour training class, which covers CPR, park safety, resource protection information, trail maintenance and more.
