AVLF Toasts Pro Bono Cases

by admin

We try not to miss Atlanta’s largest wine tasting event, benefitting the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation. AVLF hosted its 22nd annual bash last Thursday at the High Museum of Art with 1,400 lawyers, judges, paralegals and supporters.

Since 1979, AVLF has coordinated lawyers who provide their skills pro bono (free) to serve the civil legal needs of more than 5,000 at-risk, low-income individuals in the Atlanta community.

Volunteers do not help in personal injury or criminal cases. Marty Ellin, who has served as AVLF’s director since 2001, and his dedicated board raise funds to support the seven-member staff to screen cases.
