Marriott’s ‘Hotel of the Year’

by admin

When principals of Grove Street Partners barely closed on financing for their Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway Center just hours before the 2008 Lehman Brothers collapse, they knew they were in for the ride of their lives.

Despite the recession, Kevin Kern, Jim Stormont and Chip Groome persevered and were justifiably proud this summer when Marriott named the Silver LEED-certified hotel with soundproof windows and 398 elegant rooms its “Hotel of the Year.”

Be sure to book a night there before hopping on an early morning flight, visit Champions Sports bar and ride the free SkyTrain to the world’s busiest airport.
