Allyship

In my walk, I’ve distilled virtue into three fundamental attributes: humility, empathy and compassion. Keep these as the foundation of your life, and everything built on top of it will never crumble.

I say to my brother, “I understand that I can never understand.” I listen, with humility. I strive to meet what I can never understand with empathy. I take up my brother’s cause with compassion and I march forward with him.

This to me is how the change begins within oneself and grows out into the world like the branches of an oak tree. Humility, empathy and compassion.
