Atlanta was on the national stage this week for protests and riots related to the murder of George Floyd … but as we know, this is a much bigger systemic problem.
His murder was the tipping point, a “perfect storm” including the murders of Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor (and countless others), the pandemic, unemployment, and leaders stoking the fire – all building up. Destruction and violence stems from a different place than protest. People are upset, hurt, afraid, and it’s devastating.
