Go Cross Country at the High

by

Georgia O’Keefe, Ansel Adams, Jacob Lawrence, N.C. Wyeth and Grandma Moses are just a few of the 80 artists whose work is represented in the 200 pieces now on display through May 7 at the High Museum of Art in the exhibition “Cross Country: The Power of Place in American Art, 1915-1950.”

Arranged by region, the art includes works created by photographers and untrained artists, for the first time expanding the notion of who could be considered an artist.

My favorites included the photographs of Walker Evans and Dorothea Lange, who documented the effects of the Great Depression.
