Not Your Father’s Hospital

by admin

When did hospitals become “destinations” – places that weren’t so cold and stark? When they began to value wellness and therapeutic landscapes?

Today’s hospitals feature yoga programs, meditation, and organic cooking classes to guide visitors to a healthier life. Rooftop and healing gardens, trails and lush courtyards provide escapes for patients, doctors and staff.

To create more value in healthcare facilities, we need to identify the space’s main users, then provide amenities for a rich environment. We may not be replacing the Jell-O, but we’ll provide support during times of emotional stress and set individuals up for a longer, happier life.

There is way too much green space being replaced with concrete. We need more parks in the city and ranch homes for handicap. not everyone wants to live in apartments. .
