Atlanta’s lost artery has caused gloomy predictions of doubled commute times and economic turmoil. But my fellow millennials have reacted with curiously less concern.
With new car costs having risen 35 percent since 2000, many millennials have ditched the dealers and commute for Uber so they can work while they ride. Plus, according to RSG, millennials are twice as likely to use public transport as Xers, and six times as likely as boomers.
It seems, then, that Atlanta’s millennials had a bit less to lose when 85 collapsed. Our attitude may change when competition for Ubers heats up this spring.
