The researchers at the University of Montreal have found even more reasons for moms-to-be to make exercise a top priority during pregnancy. According to a new study, as little as 20 minutes of exercise three times a week can more quickly develop a newborn’s brain.
Against the control group, babies who had exercising mothers had higher levels of brain activity at 8 to12 days after being born. The aerobic exercise has an immediate result of mitochondrial activity in the fetal brain, according to the study.
The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists urges 30 minutes daily of exercise during pregnancy.
