Traveling over the river and through the woods to visit loved ones this holiday season? Well, you’re not alone. But before heading out, help ensure a safe (and enjoyable) journey with these pre-road-trip tips.
1. Have car inspected and necessary maintenance performed, especially on tires, which should be winter-ready and properly inflated.
2. Top off fluids and prepare a first-aid kit and emergency kit, with spare tire, carjack and jumper cables.
3. Plan route ahead of time, keep an eye on the weather and know alternate routes.
4. Pack plenty of snacks, water and cellphone charger.
