“We have an anomaly on the plane and need to go back to the gate,” the captain said. That began a 12-hour delay for my flight home from Syracuse, which finally landed at 1:54AM.
After several discouraging announcements (“We figured out what’s broken, but we don’t have the part. A mechanic is flying from Detroit with it.”), I figured it was time to rebook.
While dozens of people lined up to wait more than an hour, I turned on my laptop and easily got another flight at 6PM, which was quickly sold out. Don’t ever wait in line.
