Grand Place to Stay in Vienna

Opened last fall, the Grand Ferdinand had everything I needed in a hotel for my first visit to Vienna. Location is key when you want to explore a city by foot, as I love to do.

The Grand is on the “Ring Road” as the main circular road is called, within walking distance of the Vienna State Opera, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the main shopping roads.

Rooms are small, but with beautiful views of Vienna. The bountiful buffet breakfast on the eighth floor is delicious. There are two other restaurants, including Gulasch & Champagne, where I ate goulash my last night.
