While summer officially begins June 21, temperatures are already climbing here in Georgia.
Humans can control the A/C, grab a glass of ice water and plan for a pool day to cool down, but our furry friends cannot so it’s important to keep a special eye on them during the season:
• Strategize exercise plans for early in the morning or later in the evening when the temperatures aren’t as high.
• Avoid burnt paws by considering dog booties.
• Provide plenty of fresh water.
• Know the symptoms and watch for signs of heat stroke.
• Do not leave pets in a car unattended.
