When Hayden Panettiere passed away, I thought about how ahead of her time she was, all because of a handbag.
She was the “it girl” on “Heroes” when she partnered with Dooney & Bourke in 2007 on a bag collection, years before celebrity collaborations became an everyday part of fashion and branding. I splurged on the red patent-leather for $500. I’d never spent that kind of money on anything, let alone something designer.
I never carried it; couldn’t ruin it. It’s in mint condition with the HP tags still attached. Buying it felt monumental – a reward for building something on my own.
