If you’re shopping for a dependable midsized sedan, the question isn’t should you buy a Camry, but which one. Bells and whistles aside, you have three options: standard, V6 and hybrid.
The standard Camry offers a punchy four-cylinder with 203 horsepower: good enough to feel “quick” and push the car’s handling precisely to its limit. The thirsty, expensive V6 is just too much power for the car and simply isn’t necessary.
Where does that leave the hybrid? Offering 14 more mpg and punchier acceleration than the base four-cylinder for under $5K more, the hybrid is the obvious choice.
