What should you expect when visiting the nation’s No. 1 haunted house? NETHERWORLD actually consists of two walkthrough attractions: The Awakened – a Lovecraftian labyrinth featuring cultists, ghosts and ghouls – and Subject: Unknown – a Resident Evil/Walking Dead-inspired trek through zombie-infested labs and blood-spattered hallways.
Each walkthrough is impressively dense with Hollywood-quality special effects, talented actors and insidiously timed scares. As horror film aficionados, my date and I expected to emerge from each 20-minute walk amused, if unfazed. However, we emerged shaking, shocked at NETHERWORLD’S ability to terrify us.
