National Down Syndrome Society hosts popup dinner

By law, people with Down syndrome cannot work a full-time job without losing their Medicaid; this prevents many individuals with DS from independent living.

To combat what they call “law syndrome,” the National Down Syndrome Society has launched C21: a popup dining experience run almost entirely by individuals with Down syndrome. After a successful event on Capitol Hill, C21 came to the Atlanta History Center on Oct. 9. The difference between C21 and a high-end Atlanta dining experience was negligible.

If you support the ability for individuals with DS to work full-time, text “law syndrome” to 52886.
