To preface, I like the Prius, but it’s riddled with curious dichotomies that may excite or perplex you.
It’s marketed as an innocent, friendly eco-box, but features the raging face of a creature from the Marianas Trench. It offers much sportier suspension and handling than before, but still on tires less grippy than bowling shoes on a patch of ice. It boasts a massive, Tesla-like touchscreen … but no volume knob.
In all, the 2018 Prius is an anthology of brilliance and curiosities. I still prefer the exquisite-in-every-way 2018 Camry Hybrid, which also gets 50+ MPG.
