On Friday, August 31, Georgia State University kicked off its 2017-2018 football season with the opening of Parker H. Petit Field at GSU Stadium, the former home of the Atlanta Braves.
Speculations ran wild as to what would become of the former Turner Field, but that all changed when the university announced that they had secured the spot to redevelop the stadium as a mixed-use campus venue and home of the Panthers football stadium.
Construction began late last year, which gave them only a few months of reconstruction, but it looks to have been completed just in time!
