Cast Iron restaurant is opening soon in Old Fourth Ward, serving dinner and weekend brunch. It’s the first restaurant for Chef Evan Cordes, formerly of Serpas True Food and Cakes & Ale. Dishes include duck confit gaufrettes, king trumpet and oyster mushrooms and half cooked snapper with olives.
Shaun Doty and Lance Gummere partnered again to open The Federal this week in Midtown, named for its proximity to the Federal Reserve. Now serving morning coffee bar service and dinner, the restaurant will add weekday breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch later in November.
Their previous restaurants include Mumbo Jumbo and Bantam + Biddy.
