Re:Gender (formerly the National Council for Research on Women) honored Geri Thomas, Bank of America’s Chief Diversity Officer and Georgia State President, with its 2014 “Fire Starter Award,” which honors individuals who have sparked lasting change for gender equality.
In a recent Q&A with Huffington Post, Geri was asked what piece of advice she’d offer to women entrepreneurs. Her response: “Have a plan and adequate capital to get through start up. Have the resilience to hang in there and trust your capabilities.”
Geri’s been with the bank for more than 40 years and helped launch its diversity and inclusion program.
