My Parents’ Basement: Comics and Craft Beer

Part craft beer bar, part restaurant and part comic book store, My Parents’ Basement in Avondale Estates is a one-of-a-kind establishment.

My Parents’ Basement was started by three food and beverage industry veterans and friends – Tim Ensor, David DeFeo and Lawson Wright. Beginning as a pop-up shop, the “friendly neighborhood comic book bar” moved to its brick-and-mortar location in August 2015 and continues to serve a wide selection of craft beer and small plates alongside comics – including new issues, collected editions and rarities.
