After being closed for over five months, movie theaters across the nation, including AMC, Regal and Cinemark, are beginning phased reopenings. Guests can expect health and safety measures in place, such as operating at limited capacity, requiring masks except while eating or drinking, enforced social distancing and more.
On Aug. 20, AMC reopened a sixth of its locations. Some Cinemark locations were already open, while others open on Aug. 21 with more later in the month. Regal begins rolling reopenings on Aug. 21, offering flashback feature showings each week through Sept. 21 at $5 for adults and $3 for children.
