Opening Sept. 18, Atlanta History Center’s newest exhibition, “Atlanta ’96: Shaping an Olympic and Paralympic City” sheds light on many aspects of the Games that impacted our city and lives. Everyone has different Olympic memories, and this signature exhibition aims to place those memories in the context of Atlanta’s overall history of growth and reinvention.
“Atlanta ’96” invites visitors to view the Games through four lenses: envisioning, campaigning, realizing and reflecting to examine the people, events and decisions that helped shape Atlanta. New stories, iconic objects, archival materials, still and moving images, touchless interactive experiences and more will be featured.
