Most people have figured out that you don’t need to pay a shop $70 for new wiper blades; just get a $15 pair at Costco and snap them in yourself like LEGO® bricks.

Here are three other surprisingly easy things you can DIY to save hundreds:

• Cabin air filters cost ~$10 on Amazon and are usually hidden behind your glove box.

• Engine air filters cost ~$15, and once you find your engine air box, it’s just a matter of popping the tabs and replacing it.

• Washer fluid costs $4/gallon. Look for this cap in your engine bay and pour away.
