The Atlanta Opera is making opera more accessible by releasing 18 filmed performances on its streaming platform, Atlanta Opera Film Studio.
The platform was initially launched during the pandemic to help bring the opera to people’s homes. Last month, the performance organization began its rollout of 18 new filmed operas on the platform and will continue with monthly additions through December.
The full collection will include performances such as “Madama Butterfly,” “Forsyth County is Flooding,” “The Magic Flute” and “Macbeth.” The Atlanta Opera Film Studio platform will also livestream new productions at no cost, beginning with “La traviata” on Nov. 14.
