Connecting with a song

Many are now seeking ways to connect while separated in quarantine. One new, unique concept to share some love comes from members of The Atlanta Opera Chorus and Atlanta Opera Studio Artists – virtual singing telegrams. 

Using a cell phone or other recording device, members record themselves singing or playing the piano. Then, they’re sent to those in the community who are lonely, at risk or just needing human interaction, including seniors in communities, hospital patients and other frontline workers, or others that need a little brightness in their day. 

Musical selections include a short aria or the recipient’s favorite song.
