Film rises from the dead

The Walking Dead

Film is rising from the dead and emerging from the shadows thanks to a gruesome zombie apocalypse and trailblazing African-American women mathematicians.

Eastman Kodak Co. is looking to expand in Atlanta due to the resurgence of celluloid film projects like “The Walking Dead” and “Hidden Figures,” both filmed in Georgia. The company plans to establish the Kodak Photographic Arts Center, which would process film for projects and provide photography equipment and opportunities to learn to shoot film.

The company reportedly is in talks with several Atlanta studios to move its existing lab and offices as part of the expansion.
