It’s a favorite Atlanta summer tradition – spreading out a blanket and listening to the Atlanta Symphony in Piedmont Park. ASO is back, with a free concert June 23 on Oak Hill at 7:30PM. No tickets are required.
The performance is an eclectic one, featuring music from several centuries. Led by Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Assistant Conductor Joseph Young, the concert features Rossini’s Overture to “The Barber of Seville,” Brubeck’s “Concerto for Bass Trombone” and Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 5.”
I’m really looking forward to the arrangement of James Brown’s “I Feel Good,” one of my favorites from the Godfather of Soul.
