My favorite live set I’ve ever experienced was D’Angelo and The Vanguard at Bonnaroo this year. However, that superlative may be topped October 4 when D’Angelo and his band play at Atlanta’s Central Park during AfroPunk Fest.
The two-day festival, which The NYT calls “the most multicultural festival in the US,” celebrates its third year in Atlanta and also hits New York City and Paris. The incredible lineup includes Flying Lotus, Thundercat and Public Enemy. Other activities include Activism Row, SpinThrift Market, Bites&Beats food trucks and Afropunk After Dark, a lineup of late-night pop-up performances.
Weekend and single-day tickets available.
