This play from Disney Theatrical Productions made news of its own when it won Tony Awards for Best Score and Best Choreography in 2012. A huge hit on Broadway, Newsies comes to the Fox Theatre January 20-25.

The play is based on the Newsboy Strike of 1899, when Joseph Pulitzer raised the price of newspapers at the young hawkers’ expense, and they were not going to take it any more.

These underdogs banded together to fight. “Poor little kids versus rich greedy sour pusses,” as they sing in “Watch What Happens.” Tickets start at $62; for kids 8 and over.
