‘The flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long’

I love to travel, especially for food. Some of my most memorable meals have been in Charleston, Chicago, Fiji, Finland, Montreal, Italy, NYC, San Francisco and Vancouver. When the news of Anthony Bourdain’s passing hit, I was stunned.

Here’s this food badass who showed me the world, its culture, politics and people all through cuisine, and he was gone. Last year, I was gutted when Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington left us. His music got me through so much, especially when my father died.

I didn’t know either, yet I’m left with a hole. Two cultural icons on to parts unknown.
