A Year of Rehab Without TV News

by Jan Schroder

Hi, my name is Chris. It’s been a year since I watched.

Following a lifetime of addiction to political TV news and, following a particularly negative immersive binge, I realized I had to change as it felt like I was ingesting poison. I began my withdrawal November 9.

It hasn’t been easy. My co-workers, friends and relatives love to discuss the latest political outrage. I can’t join them. I go home at night and fight the urge to watch TV news. But I feel so much better without the toxic infusion. I think I can stay clean another year.
