This year, the Atlanta History Center marks its centennial anniversary, celebrating a century of preserving and sharing the region’s past.
Founded in 1926 as the Atlanta Historical Society, the institution has grown from a small archival group into one of the Southeast’s premier history museums and research centers. Over the last 100 years, the center has expanded to include historic homes, curated gardens, the Atlanta History Museum and a wide range of exhibitions exploring everything from Civil War history to Atlanta’s cultural evolution.
Centennial programming will include new exhibitions, special events and opportunities for community engagement with Atlanta’s rich heritage.
