Atlanta’s CNN Center once featured the world’s largest indoor amusement park

Located in the heart of Downtown Atlanta, the CNN Center has always been a significant structure to the city, even before the popular news network made the building its home.

Prior to the newsrooms and studios, the CNN Center was known for The World of Sid and Marty Krofft — the world’s largest indoor amusement park.

The park opened in 1976 and featured six levels of elaborate attractions such as rides, circus trailers, stilt-walkers, caricature artists, sword-swallowers, psychics, a crystal unicorn carousel, the world’s largest freestanding escalator and more.

Unfortunately, the park closed down after six months due to low attendance.
