Haunted Atlanta: Historic Concord Covered Bridge

by
Historic Concord Covered Bridge

The pleasant-looking bridge over Nickajack Creek is anything but, according to those who’ve traveled it. During the 1800s, several children came to their demise near the landmark.

In one horrific event, the three-year-old son of a local miller was playing in a nearby mill. To his horror, his father found the boy “stripped of clothing, bleeding, gashed and lifeless, wedged in among the machinery.”

Legend has it that if you park on the bridge, turn your lights off and leave a Snickers bar on the roof, scurried feet will run over your car and grab the candy.
