If ever a man embodied the meaning of the word civil, it was Judge Bell. During a break, we discussed the intensifying partisanship embroiling and spoiling American political discourse. He shared a political theory: if middle-of-the-road Americans formed a party that put forth no candidates, but merely negotiated the polarized two major parties back towards the center, our country would be a finer place.
