Although neighbors had only 24 hours’ notice the historic Randolph-Lucas House would be moving at midnight last Friday from its high-profile Buckhead perch to its new home at Ansley Park’s 78 Peachtree Circle, there was plenty of time to plan a party.
The 2500 Peachtree Condominium Association hosted new owners Christopher Jones and Roger Smith while neighbors lined a closed Peachtree Road to watch workers haul horizontal halves of the 1924 mansion, originally built by Thomas Jefferson’s great, great grandson.
Newly elected City Councilwoman Mary Norwood, who first tipped off the new owners to the home’s availability, looked on joyously.
