I’ve learned over the years that actions, when done out of love and care, can mean more than the most expensive gift that can be bought. With so many in need this year, there are many ways to give back through actions, and maybe even create new traditions.
• Volunteer time to help a local organization.
• Sponsor a less-fortunate family for the holidays. Angel Tree and the Secret Santa program with the DFCS are just two options.
• While visiting local nursing homes isn’t safe this year, handwritten cards can brighten a day instead.
• Cook a meal or bake cookies for neighbors.
