The Village Market recently opened on the second floor of Ponce City Market’s Central Food Hall. Founded by Atlantan, social entrepreneur, curator, speaker and educator Dr. Lakeysha Hallmon, the market offers goods from about 25 local Atlanta Black entrepreneurs. Hallmon created the concept after noticing a lack of diversity in festival vendors and support for Black-owned businesses.
Just in time for the holidays, the shop offers a variety of products, including apparel, home goods, body products and more. In addition, the space will double as a community hub — aiming to empower Black entrepreneurs through education, purpose-driven events and community engagement.
