Rather than shying away from the fake news, the small Kentucky city of Bowling Green called on New York PR Firm The Decker/Royal Agency to leverage the unexpected publicity.

The firm sent out pitches to travel writers about the town, located one hour north of Nashville, promoting its Mammoth Cave National Park, family-owned diary farm, GM Corvette Assembly Plant and more.

When your town gets accused of being the site of a massacre incited by refugees, you make lemonade.
