A Real Investment in Virtual Reality

by

When Virtuix pitched the panel of investors on ABC’s Shark Tank in 2013, they had already raised more than a million dollars in pre-sales on Kickstarter for their immersive virtual reality treadmill, the Omni.

The Sharks were turned off by Virtuix’s $20 million valuation and chose not to invest, but that didn’t stop Omni’s creators from forging ahead.

After raising a $3 million seed round from a syndicate of venture capitalists (including “shark” Mark Cuban), they are now offering $15 million in shares to the general public at a roughly $45 million valuation on the equity crowdfunding site, SeedInvest.
