If you look at my Twitter bio, next to my email you’ll see the quote: “Failing to plan is planning to fail.” That’s not only how I live my life, but it’s also how I do my job.

Having recently earned my Accreditation in Public Relations, I’ve been reminded how important strategic planning is in PR. Anyone can send a release to reporters, but strategic planners go beyond and take the time to consider goals, objectives, strategies and tactics – all part of the road map for PR efforts.

If you’re not planning for your clients, you’re already failing them.
