After nine lives were lost during last week’s school shooting in Oregon, local law enforcement would not name the shooter in hopes of refusing him the recognition he thought his violent acts might bring.
But there is one name from the shooting being shared for all the right reasons. Army veteran Chris Mintz was shot seven times as he charged towards the shooter in an effort to block him from entering his classroom filled with students.
Mintz is now facing a long recovery, but thankfully it won’t be an expensive one: over $760,000 has been raised for Mintz on GoFundMe.
