Winners & Losers

When working on budgeting and scheduling for project bids in the construction industry, I have to choose subcontractors who are the right fit for each job.

After a project is awarded and the subcontractors selected, I spend time with each of the companies that weren’t asked to join the team.

I’ve learned to treat the people who lost just as well as those who won. No matter the industry, relationships are essential to business, and I’ve found that ensuring everyone understands why they were/weren’t selected for a project keeps our partners happy – particularly when they win a future bid.
