Though employee engagement is at its highest level since 2000, less than one-third of employees are enthusiastic and committed to their work, according to Gallup’s recent employee engagement survey.
“Traditionalists” and managers were the most engaged, while millennials were the least engaged. Not only did 51 percent of workers report being “not engaged,” an astounding 17 percent reported being “actively disengaged.”
In my staffing experience, the candidate who fits in is most likely to stay engaged and feel connected to the company. Rather than hiring the smartest or most eager candidate, find the candidate that fits the culture and management.
