Glenridge Hall, a gorgeous historic Tudor Revival on 80 Sandy Springs acres is in peril. Built by the Glenn family in 1929, Glendridge’s only heir died in childbirth. Her widower and daughter lived at Glenridge until selling it to a home developer.
Last week, Mercedez-Benz USA announced it would build its new headquarters on 12 acres in what is now surrounding woods. CEO Steve Cannon – who revealed at last week’s Metro Chamber breakfast he holds the push-up record at West Point and has nine children – sparked an idea.
Let the Cannon family live in Glenridge and let’s preserve an architectural gem.

Great idea — I think they have a bunch of kids. I would also like to point out that Mercedes-Benz rescued the Margaret Mitchell House, so it would be wonderful if the company could also rescue Glenridge Hall. Frances the granddaughter (I think that was her name) worked so hard to rescue it when the rest of her family abandoned it. I hate to think of her legacy being razed. And the Glenn family played a part in Atlanta’s history — primarily medical I think.
Am really enjoying this, Chris!
