I remember going to Atlanta Hawks games when they debuted in Tech’s coliseum. My interest peaked with the Dominique Wilkins era.
As career and family edged in, I followed the Hawks less, stopping completely a few years ago. They have my attention again.
A stunning team without superstars blazing through the NBA. Coached skillfully by Mike Budenholzer and built – lest we forget – by a smart general manager named Danny Ferry, whose forced absence during this spectacular run was sparked by a regrettable word choice. Let’s hope he’s back to witness the finish of what should be a most memorable year.
