End-of-Year Reflections

by Sally Schroder

To paraphrase, this is “the most frenetic time of the year.” We dash from Thanksgiving to Christmas, allowing but a few days to reflect on the passing year.

I paused to review what I’ve written here this year. I’ve declared that perception is reality, that value creates profits, that connections with clients must be emotional, that excellence stems from wanting to excel and that change must be addressed honestly and directly. I have said that when folks lose patience, they lose faith.

These pronouncements highlight the importance of how people feel about management. Good managers empathize with colleagues and customers.
