We had read the blog post about a dog’s last day, but were still not prepared for all the crying.
Riley, a lab mix, was so sweet. Slept 22 hours a day. For those other two, he was this man’s best friend. I’ve never lived with a dog as long as I roomed with Riley.
After he was diagnosed with cancer in May, Jan only asked that he live until her kids could return this past weekend to bid adieu. He did.
Then he stopped eating and wagging his tail and said farewell. If only I could die so nobly.
